You have plenty of time to prepare for your Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). Do a search of PDI's on this forum and you should be able to catch a lot of the issues during your inspection and have them repaired before delivery. Climb all over the coach, look at every seam, every screw, exercise every system. Run your slides in and out, make sure they seal. Test the AC and heat, water heater, and all the appliances. The tech will probably do a lot of this for you but even they won't catch everything. Ask lots of questions here. There is a lot of experience on this forum. Welcome, and enjoy your camper.

Congratulations, we are picking up our 2970 Monday afternoon. If you don't mind me asking, what are you towing with . I have a 2017 Ford F-150. From everything I have read it should tow. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated by The Smiths from Ohio! Thank yo.

Welcome to the Imagine 2950, or should I say 2970 club! We have a 2950RL, 2017 and we love it! I just wanted other 2950 and 2970 owners to not let the factory or even RV dealers tell you that you can't put a slide topper on the curb side slide because of the slide awning! I have been working for over a year and a half racking my brain as to how to put a topper on that slide. When it rains it even sounds different than the rain hitting the roof? I called Grand Design, they said no, my dealer said no, I sent pictures literally all over the country trying to get someone to tell me how to put a topper on that slide. We have one on the kitchen slide every since we bought it, but I always hated the fact, especially every time it rained or in the fall that we did not have a topper on the curb side awning. Finally a couple of weeks ago a local (Georgia) mobile RV repair guy came out and said "sure we can put a topper on that!" We purchased the same type that I had on the other side, and A&E Dometic, black and mounted the topper brackets on the actual slide flange. I know what you are thinking, "you can't put the brackets on the slide flange!" Even in the A&E installation instructions they say if you have to install the brackets on the slide flange make sure you go into structure of the slide. The slide flange is 5 inches wide but the first 2 inches are actually the edge of the slide structrue, actually stronger than putting the brackets on the wall of the slide where all topper brackets are mounted. We also actually used the gutter groove that your main awning fastens to so I have a good slope and I didn't have to put additional holes in the camper wall for the traditional topper fabric bracket! It looks great and even better now the slide is protected. We did have to be careful not to put the roller tube bracket to close to the main awning, but it clears it by a coupe of inches and also clears the slide awning by a couple of inches. I do have pictures on my phone I can send to anyone who has any interest. One slide topper guy I was talking to in Oregon who also ownes an Imagine said he was going to send the pictures I sent him to a friend of his who works for Grand Design and let them know it can be done!

Thanks for all your comments everybody, I appreciate it! Sorry for the delayed response, I wasn't getting notices of replies from any of the threads on the GD forum, then I noticed they were all getting dumped into my spam file. I changed that.
New Tamper - My intent is/was to install a slide cover on the curb side slide, never even occurred to me that it might not be possible because the awning is there already. That said, being the camper will largely live in the woods, I'd really like to have a cover on both of my slides. Any pictures, instructions, etc would be greatly appreciated!
Smitty - as to what will we pull our 2970 with? Currently I have GMC 1500 HD, 4X4 CC, 6.0L gas Auto. The Chevy/GMC 1500HD is really a 2500. Back in the day, Ford had a CC truck, GM did not. So they rebadged the 2500 as a 1500Hd so GM could say they had a CC half ton, , or heavy half ton.
That being said, the 2970 is getting to my max tow rating, I'm inside the 20% safety margin. I'm not really concerned about it as A) the camper will serve mainly as a cabin for us. And B) the few times we will tow it to a state park, probably along the north shore, it's only going to be a couple hundred miles round trip. The "plan" is that I get a new (er) truck in the next year or two as my truck only has 220,000 miles on it. Still tows like a champ!! I plan on bumping up to a 2500HD, 4X4, CC, gasser.
Oddly enough when we were sitting in the 2970 at the Minneapolis camper show we had a conversation with a couple that towed their 2970 to Yellowstone with a 2500 HD 6.0L gas, said it wasn't too much of a problem at all. They stayed outside of the park.

towing
I have the 2950 and the empty weight is 7100, so I'm guessing I'm around 8000 loaded. I pull with a Nissan Titan, with a lot of mods to the engine and suspension to help pull it. It pulls good, but I also use a ProPride 3P because the camper is so long and so much heavier than my truck. I have absolutly no sway and I have pulled many time in the N Georgia mountains and the only thing you have to watch is the Transmission temp. It will run up very quickly. If I had to do it over I would recommend a 3/4 ton, that's a lot of camper.
