Started that way once and hit so much Tundra along the way and distance came back. Almost went on a Ice Calving experience, went to Amsterdam instead, our favorite city.

I lived in Alaska for 25 years. Took my wife and MIL for a 3 month RV trip in 2016 to see the interior, then we did a cruise last August to visit SE Alaska. Plan to return in the future and venture off the beaten path and visit Inuvik, NWT and Prudhoe Bay.

Son-in-law worked on the Alaska pipeline out of Prudhoe Bay, said the mountains were really high, we live in Colorado. I traveled/worked/lived in 22 foreign countries as a consultant to the major oil companies heavy construction but always missed the mountains.
