    Water Softener storage?

Wintering in AZ I ended up buying a 16,000 Grain portable Water Softener. We will only use it for 6 months out of the year. What is the best way to store it the other 6 months? Thanks for any help.

Should it be stored full of water or without? How about the beads? Will they still be good or should they be dumped?

If you leave it full of water, sanitize, back flush and regenerate. Beads will be ok.

Hey guys, I installed an on-the-go 16k water softener and a filter then went camping.
I never dumped the water out of the softener afterwards and the trailer has been sitting for 2 weeks.
Can we just go camping this weekend? or do we need to perform some type of sanitizing or maintenance?
Add to that, if we don't, then how long can we let the trailer sit before we do need to sanitize?

I'm saying this with no past water softener experience.... If only 2 weeks I'd say you're fine. I think of it this way, if you feel safe with the rest of your water system than the softener should fall in line with the same treatment. Do you empty and sanitize the water heater every time? I would think even a months time and you should be ok.
I plan on storing ours out of the sun when it isn't in use. Hopefully that will not be to often
    .

I imagine it could be cycled to keep things fresh if it is going to sit for extended periods of time. That would be easy to do and not very time consuming.
