Well I'm back in AZ. What I ended up doing was what LCBoyer suggested. I left the softener full of water with the beads intact. I added a little bit of Clorox bleach and mixed it up. I then put caps on the inlet and outlet and let it sit for the summer (About 5 1/2 months). When I got back to AZ I flushed it out and then did a regeneration. All was good, the water softener was clean and it works as it should. Thanks everyone for all the good advice.

Can we just go camping this weekend? or do we need to perform some type of sanitizing or maintenance?
Add to that, if we don't, then how long can we let the trailer sit before we do need to sanitize?
    Hi DaveMaathewsBand,

I also use the 16k On-The-Go softener. I bought mine last year and we love it. I have attached these instructions from the On-The-Go web site. Click image for larger version.
