    Andersen Hitch towing ride

I am new to towing a 5th wheel, I have only towed trailers on my bumper. I took my reflection into the dealer to add a second a/c and I have noticed that it tows differently, I just don't know if it is normal or I need to change something. So when I am pulling it, I am on the gas pedal and then I left off it and then push the pedal again I get a tugging feeling. Also when I hit a bump (not very big) the whole vehicle and fifth wheel bounce a for like 2 seconds. I just am not familiar with fifth wheel and want to make sure what I am experiencing is normal.

    Thanks in advance

If you're not used to towing them, fifth wheels feel different than a pull-behind travel trailer (and I certainly hope you weren't actually towing anything on the bumper). There are two motions that many people complain about: 1) chucking, which is the fore-and-aft motion of the trailer pulling and pushing the truck as they each hit uneven road surfaces at different times, and 2) porpoising, which is the oscillation up and down after you go over a significant bump such as a bridge or pavement transition. You may feel both of these effects regardless of the hitch you are using - the Andersen is just quieter in the chucking department. Properly inflated tires on both vehicles (and a good LT tires on the truck), good shocks on the truck, and sometimes Timrens or air bags on the truck help with the porpoising. If your Andersen weren't fully engaged and locked, I think you would have worse problems than you are describing (I pulled 12K miles with an Andersen and really like them).

If it tows differently after the dealer visit, it either wasn't set up properly before or currently isn't. The tugging would concern me - the only thing I can think of is a brake dragging.

Rule of thumb - if something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Get it checked out.

Engaged brakes on the 5th wheel was my first thought too. Make sure the emergency break away pin isn’t pulled or loose.

I'd be concerned the dealer might have messed with the adapter to move it. Put it on the other direction or didn't get it tight? Breakaway cable pulled is a good thing to check too. I wouldn't think the extra pin weight from the new AC would be enough to change the ride.
