Thanks Cate & Rob, you are correct that I'm not planning on using a slider since (at least in theory) I should have clearance using the turning point pin box. I'll check out the thread you referenced.

Thank you Bob, good to know that you are happy with the Curt.

I have a Pro series 20K Reese 5th wheel hitch. I had a 16K before that. I also have a Reese Sidewinder pin box on my Solitude. I have been using this setup for about 3K miles. I ordered the custom wedge that was made to fit my hitch. It is a much better fit than the universal wedge that comes with the Pin box. It works great. Love this setup. One other benny you will find with the turning point pin box is, because the pivot point is moved 22” to the rear, the trailer tracks better.

Just so folks know, Reese has a special wedge for the R20 Titan hitch if needed for the use of a turning point hitch or similar.

Randy - Interesting observation! I have commented on this same tracking improvement when maneuvering my 5th wheel with the manual slider in the rear position (10" back from the over-the-axle towing position)

I have read "theories" about having the pivot point 22" back maybe causing sway problems similar to a TT . . . but, I expect that the heavier 5th wheel pin weight takes care of this . . . as it probably would if a TT was towed with a 20% tongue weight.

Rob, I would love for you, or anyone with similar setup, to weigh with hitch forward and rearward. We can speculate, but real numbers would be educational.

ya...I get no sway at all. Going down the hwy I can tell no difference from a normal pin box. A great invention for us short box guys

For our 295RL our dealer recommended locking out the turning point and go with an auto slide (my F150 is a 5.5 ft. bed)… I already had a Demko however my friend has a Pull Rite and I believe it is a much better unit...

Bert, you just saved me a ton of headache. I'll explain

I went hunting for a truck to pull my TH, and was looking for a specific Transmission and rear axle ratio combo. I found it....but it didn't have the puck system, I didn't realize that meant I couldn't get a B&W 25K companion before I bought the truck.

I was looking at 2 grand to have a company install the puck system so i could buy that hitch. Didn't like the idea of a Curt.

Dude....without knowing it, the Hensley is what i was looking for, and I don't have to do any major mods on the truck and it's a better ride.

I'm stoked...from being frustrated at myself this morning to having a plan that's even better. Thanks man!

Hey Mike what is your height of your fifth wheel in the bed of the truck.

I've since switched trucks and hitches. Sorry, but I can't provide any details.
