    Landing gear locking pins

We picked up our new-to-us 2014 337 yesterday. Spent 2 hours with a service manager reviewing operation and safety do and don'ts. The last thing he told us before we left was to keep an eye on the landing gear locking pins - ensuring that the pins were fully inserted. He said if a partially inserted pin was to bend inside tube it could foul landing gear.

Unhitched in driveway and then noticed one pin not visible from back side. A bit of panic later and I was able to relieve pressure and push pins in. Actually both pin were not fully engaged. Plan to add to check list and give a good coat of lubricant to pin assemblies when hooked back to truck.

    Newbie sweat!

Love this camper - can't wait to hit the road for some local weekend practice runs.

Finally: I want to thank everyone on this forum for some fantastic and useful info. I've been reading back threads every night and have gained a wealth of valuable insight Thank you all! Mark

Mark - Welcome to the forum! If the landing gear locking pins won’t move smoothly with some lubrication, loosen the two bolts that hold the pin assembly to the leg and re-tighten them slowly and evenly while moving the pin in and out . . . to see if you can align things better. (All this with the weight off the legs of course )

When we picked up our new 337, i noticed one pin did not want to align with the holes on the inside. I did not think much of it. Before i put the landing gear down at home, i pulled the pin assembly ofc to find the pin was bent about 1/8 of an inch off.
Some pounding with a 5lb hammer and grinding the tip a little to guide it in the hole, and it works ok. It's on my list to replace and cost about $40 a pair

Thanks. Good points. Next time it's hitched on the truck I'll remove them to resolve the sticky pin issue
