    Fluid Level

After reading a few threads on hydraulic fluids I checked mine. After raising all the jacks hooked up to the truck I was a few inches from the filler cap. I added a quart of CAT additive and a quart of ATF and now looks to be about 1/2 quart low. There is no leak down and I don't see fluid on the ground but will check closely. Was this a factory QC miss? The dealer also missed it and I'm sure I knew way more that the tech that did the walk though, I know my wife did. Any thoughts? Lyle

There should be a fill line on the reservoir. If all the jacks are up and the slides in, it should be full to that line. If you added that much it must not have been properly filled in the first place and hopefully not a hidden leak somewhere.

The destruction manual says the fill line is 1/4 inch below the filler. I too hope it was just and oversite at the factory but will be checking for leaks

After a couple of shorts trips and running the hydraulic system a dozen times the fluid level seems stable. Will check often. Of course this also highlighted the bad 50 amp breaker which was replaced yesterday.
