    Joshua Tree Boondocking

We have a 41' Momentum 376 and are headed to Joshua Tree National Park April 4-11. I see some boondocking sites on the north side of the NP, anyone have any local knowledge?

How about boondocking on the south side?

We were there a few weeks ago, but don't have our unit yet. Yes, there is a boondocking area right at the south entrance. We hope to be there next winter! Hope you have a good time in the park!

Not much out there on the south side of JNP Dallas. All the interesting places are on the north side.....in the loop. Jumbo Rocks campground is a great place to camp but none of the sites large enough for a Momentum.

Not sure where you're headed next but as you leave JNP on the south side and go straight across 10 and turn right into Box Canyon Rd. there are places in the box canyon to boondock. If you click on this link and scroll down to photos 9-11.....these were taken in Box Canyon. https://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index....430#msg1375430

I haven’t done any boondocking, but I live in Palm Springs.
    Aug. is hot as F...
Rather do the sierras like June loop or big bear if you want to be this far south.

I'm sure that you've already done your homework....but you'll be fine in early April, Dallas. Average high 77, average low of 45.

In August we are usually pretty far north and above 5000'. I can still do heat but Barbara really struggles with it.

Babe loves the heat.....it's 80F and she's still cold. But in the past five years or so......heat has really started affecting me. When it gets above 85F and I'm out in it for more than an hour or so, I start to get heat sick. Once I get heat sick, even if I get back in the air conditioning, it doesn't go away for the rest of the day. It's been in the mid to high 80s here in central Florida and I'm about ready to start heading north where it's a little cooler.

There are several recent YouTube videos from some full timers that were just there. One that comes to mind is Less Junk More Journey. They show the area they boondocked in pretty well and then they went into the park itself. Can give you an idea of what's there.
