Georgia Veterans State Park
Just got back from meeting our friends (with their new 41' Cyclone TH 5er) at the Georgia Veterans State Park outside of Cordele, GA which is just off I75. Although a state park, it's operated by a private company that does an awesome job. The park is on Lake Blackshear that's home to some of the finest large mouth bass, crappie and other fishing. There's static displays of military vehicles and aircraft from all service branches. There's a marina that rents boats, two excellent bar/grill/cafes, and a golf course. Since it's a state park, there's no sewer hook ups, so depending on your length of stay, you might have to dump your black/grey tanks - OR - if my wife is staying with you, you're definitely gonna need to dump your grey tanks after 2 days!! Anyhow, most sites have 50amp connections and there's plenty of room between sites. There are, however, sites that are right next to each other in the event that maybe family/friends wanna camp right next to one another. I'll shut up now and let some photos do the talking.

More photos. Yep - roughing it means teaching your friend how to make Tuna Tartare. Donna has that recipe down to an art form. I'm standing in front of a Boeing B29 Superfortress that my Dad flew in Dubbya Dubbya Two - no he didn't fly THAT one, but one like it. He turns 97 this month and still drives!! The folks on the side walks aren't too keen about it though (that's a joke BTW).

I think we stayed there a few years ago.. If I remember correctly, there is a history of war experience you walk through. It was very moving. The campground was nice to stay in also. We were on the way home and stayed there two nights. would have stayed longer, but we only booked our site for the two and had to leave.
