Momentum 397, Ford 350 single tire

Can I use a 2018 F350 single rear tire 4x4 long bed to pull a Momentum 397?

You can get away with them on the solitudes assuming properly equipped. The momentum is 4k+ lbs heavier gvw though and you'll be well over your limits.

If you look at the PDF it will say the 21k or so fifth wheel rating. Problem is that is goose neck only and that the traditional hitch is only rated for 18k. I also think the gcvw is over as well.

That puts you in dually territory and in all reality with something this big you really don't want to push those limits.

Yea, not interested in pushing it. Just having some trouble figuring the limits a single tire F350 long bed can realistically tow in a fifth wheel configuration. I will downsize the trailer before I go into a dually, the truck will be my all time driver and just tow when needed. Thank You for the reply.

A single wheel 1 ton will have a tough pull on a 397. Ours weighs 22,500lbs with a 6300lbs hitch wieght

Yup dually for sure.
6300 LBS pin weight? Does that include your SxS up on the truck?

Check out this site since it easy to use and understand. It will give you an estimate on what payload you can handle and what a 5er will weight loaded ready to camp not using dry weights. Solitudes loaded ready to camp most of them come between 22 and 23 percent of loaded ready to camp weight. A 14,000-pound Solitude loaded ready to go camping will have a pin weight of around 3,150 pounds (22.5 percent). Ignore the dey weights they will get you in trouble quick.

Tmm2good just looked at my scale tickets again. My mistake. The pin weight on the trailer is 5900# and the axle weight is 17,600#. Total rig weight is 45,000#. The 5th wheel and truck are loaded to camp. 5th wheel has 150 gal of water, 60 gal of gas, one RZR S 900 and three quads. The truck has 250 Gal of fuel, 100 gal of gas, RZR S 900, and 110 gal of water on the deck. Pin weight is 25% of total trailer weight which is about right for a toy hauler.
