    Lightbulb Giant screen door handle installed

    I've never liked the weird round clear door handle thingy on the screen door so I installed this a few days ago, picked it up at Camping World for like 12 bucks.
    It's great when it's windy out, really helps you keep control of the door. Comes with 4 small screws, takes maybe 10 minutes to install!

    X2. We won one of these at a rally a few years back. I never installed it because I know my wife wouldn't be able to keep herself from using it to slam the whole door shut - guaranteeing eventual failure of the plastic latch that holds the screen door to the main door.

    Is that protector a specific rv piece or one you could buy at a homecenter?

    Bought it off of Amazon;

    Just one point; the center slides to accommodate different width doors. While this a great feature it takes away from the structural integrity that the protector can add to the door. Once I had ours mounted I went back and pop riveted at the 4 corner where the center slides on the main frame, this makes it much stronger. If you look at the picture I attached you can see 4 small silver dots, those are the rivet heads.

    While it is very attractive, please be careful if that type is installed on the inside of the door. Your pooch could get their collar caught on it and strangle themselves trying to get free. Not something you want to come home to. I put a mesh one on mine to avoid that kind tragedy. Just something to consider.
    I bought something similar to this:

    Be careful if your rig has the tilt up solid stairs. I installed a similar screen door protector and it worked great for a couple of days until we were ready to leave. Once I folded up the stairs and tried to close the door I found the screen door protector stuck out just far enough to come into contact with the stairs and the door wouldn’t close.

    I ended up having to make significant modification (cutting) to get the screen door protector to fit between the sides of the screen door and not interfere with the steps.
