    Unhappy Electric Fireplace shut down

I have a Reflection 29RS that is just one year old. This winter we traveled to the deserts of the southwest and spent most of our time boondocking. On two different times we stayed several days in an RV park. During the first stay we utilized the electric fireplace with no problems. A month later we stayed at a different park and the electric fireplace would trip a breaker after about 10 minutes of operation. I called Grand Design and it was stated there was probably a ground issue with the park power. I had the park check and they reported there was no ground issue. The surge protector I have also indicated no ground issue. Any ideas on where I should start to resolve this issue? Could it be a faulty breaker? Suggestions appreciated. This fireplace issue is the only electrical problem I am aware of.

If you’re comfortable working with electric you can swap wires from 15 amp fireplace breaker to adjacent breaker, possibly 15 amp microwave or refrigerator breaker. That would allow you to rule out a weak breaker.

In my Reflection the breakers are standard off the shelf available at local Home Depot for less that $10. Square-D homeline or Eaton BR breakers.

My 15 amp breakers are twin tandem.

Just make sure you’re not connected to shore power and you turn off the battery disconnect switch before messing with the breaker box. The breaker box has both AC and DC breakers and fuses.

EDIT: don’t trust that the breakers are properly labeled. Mine aren’t.
