I took the following off the internet:

The EZ pass will not work in FL or GA. It does work on most toll facilities in the ME, NH ,MA, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA, WV, and in IL.

If you believe everything you read on the internet.

You might what to check Riverlink.com The system is Riverlink which works with E-Z Pass. https://riverlink.com/tolling-rates/transponders/ We start having to pay tolls about a year ago. I do not know if you have to be a resident in Kentucky or Indiana to get a transponder. I do not have to monthly service.

    TucsonJim:

Thanks for the information about purchasing the transponder in New Hampshire. We are currently planning a 2019 Great Lakes trip and were just last night looking at the toll road issue.

    Thanks again ..... Don

It sometimes pays to shop a few States DOT sites, both for the fine print about xtra charges, but also some states at times offer deals like an additional $20 on the account, etc. Most states give discounts on the toll if you use an EZ Pass. We have IL “I-Pass, which works with all EZ-Pass states. Note that Minn does not work with either, but you don’t need it here, as tolls are only on a few priority lanes.

I have two transponders, the EZ Pass for the northeast and the Sun Pass for Florida and up to the Carolinas. One transponder does not work in the other's territory. I was told some years ago that the two systems would be compatible by 2016 but guess what. That is wishful thinking. I still need both.

MtGuy, we will be staying at Shenandoah River SP in two weeks.
Because NY can't count the axles. I have 2 transponders, one for the truck & one for the truck & trailer. I talked to a NY rep about out of state users, he said NY loses money on them since they don't pay for their trailer in tow.

I guess better start traveling NY more.....LOL

Once in a while the express lanes will mess up and only charge me for the truck, but that is very rare. Here and in Maryland it knows if I am in the truck only, pulling a motorcycle trailer (2 axles), or the Momentum (3 axles).
