    Furrion DVD player

We’re on our shakedown trip with our new 2018 Reflection 303 RLS. Trying to get the built in DVD player to play a disc. I put a blu ray in there but not sure if this is even a blu ray player. Read the manual, doesn’t work as stated. Switched TV to HDM1 input as I see somethings plugged in there but just get a loading screen. Has anyone got this working?

the Furrion unit is a standard DVD player. It will not play Blu-ray discs.

Answered my own question. It’s not a blu ray player. Put a regular dvd in and voila. Unbelievable that this is not a blue ray player.

The whole electronics/home entertainment area is, I think, one of, if not THE biggest weakness in GD products.
    - Cheap coax
    - Off brand components
    - Difficult to modify (no spare cable runs, no conduits, etc.)
    - Lack of SOTA features.

I guess the counter argument is that improving those areas costs $$$, and that 90% of the customer base won't pay extra for those features.

What I'd like to see is for GD to partner with a tier one brand (Jensen, Bose, Samsung, Sony, Kenwood) and come up with a package that could be used as a selling point, instead of the current "Well, it's got an AM/FM radio and two TVs."

There are very few RV's that use a Blue Ray player. Mostly because most of them are 120 volt only. Your current entertainment system is 12 volt.

Not shootin' at you Steve, but that is a really lame excuse on the part of vendors. Someone spends >$50k on a trailer, yet can't even get a blue ray player as an option - because it's 12v. At least offer one as an option that is 120v and connect it to the TV via HDMI.

What's it going to take to bring the system up to 21st century standards? Most of my collection is BluRay's ripped to MKV files. I can play those back with any number of media boxes or straight from my laptop via HDMI. I suppose I could just plug the computer straight into the tv with HDMI (if it even has an HDMI in). But I'd like to have at least a sound bar and a 2.1 if not a true 5.1 system.

This slim line receiver looks like it would be a good fit for a small theater system in the trailer.

Add a small blu-ray player and a media player, some speakers, and you're good to go.

Oh yeah, that cheapo tv should probably be replaced as well.

Is there a downside to using a 120v system instead of the 12v in-house one?

Yes, downside is that you're going to need an inverter and a battery bank (when boondocking) to get 120v. If you're on shore power it's a non-issue.

Depends on your unit but on our 395m I'm planning on:

    1. Going with Roku Ultra, remotes work without LOS. Mount behind the TV on a cooler section.

    2. Plex server running on my PC, which is connected to 5ghz WIFI, external HD attached and the PC is out of the way. 1 HDMI from the bunk up top to the TV area. Wireless keyboard with mouse pad to control PC. Also have remote access on my phone through chrome.

    3. TV we use Youtube TV and Philo. Both work on Roku.

    4. Swapping out the TCL included TV for a LG OLED 55. Sound bar mounted below on top of the fire place with an easy to remove peg for when I take the slide in. I've been looking at a smaller Bose one that has some pretty good sound and the right size. I'm not a big Bose fan but it is actually pretty decent.

    5. PS4 will be above the TV with an HDMI to TV.

So what amounts to 2 HDMI cords and 1 digital audio I have everything I need. Surround sound would be nice but ceiling speakers mostly suck and our ceilings are nothing like a residential so you'll be limited to speakers with really tiny drivers which = sucky sound. So I'll settle for a nice soundbar and sub.
