Dometic fridge not cooling down - help?

Hey all. We're out on a maiden voyage, a shakedown, to see what works and what doesn't. The fridge doesn't seem to be cooling down. The freezer's not really cold either. Originally had it plugged it at home on Wed late afternoon. Doors are all closed. Had it set for AC originally. At campground now, trying LP. Any ideas? So far, we've done well with everything else.... Thank!! (oh, we have cooler with plenty of ice, will get more tomorrow if we need to)

An RV fridge doesnt work like the one at home. You may want to take zip lock bags of ice and place them in the fridge to help it cool. Until its cool, dont load it with warm stuff. Be sure the temp is set to a reasonable setting. Also, look into a fridge fan, helps circulate the air, increases cooling.

We preload the fridge with a dozen frozen water bottles. Once it cools we add our stuff and rotate the frozen and fridge bottles each day to act as heat sinks.

The frozen water bottles is a great idea. I just test our Dometic. At its coldest setting on electric, it gets down to 32F. I'm going to test it on propane next.

It's nice to be able to get this thing in our driveway so I can test out all the systems first before heading out.

How long have you been running it? Takes about 24 hours to get it nice and cold.

It took just one night to get down to 32F. Only problem is at that temp the fins are starting to ice. I'm going to back the temp setting from 5 to 4 and see where we end up at. I just added the Camco battery operated fan. That's supposed to keep air moving around the fridge compartment.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We had it on since last Wed evening. Tried everything... In the end, after our maiden voyage, the TT was scheduled anyway to go to dealership for some items that needed to be fixed/addressed. We dropped it off yesterday. The fridge never worked from Wed evening to Monday morning when we finally shut it down and dropped it off.

I had a similar issue after picking up from the dealer. There was an in line shutoff valve below fridge at the bottom of the trailer that the dealer left turned off. Hopefully your issue is as simple as this to fix!
