    Screen door coming apart

I noticed that the little splines that hold the screen door mesh are loose in some places. And I can see that mesh could eventually develop perforations.

Are the splines and screen material the same as the stuff used on residential screen doors? I know Hone Depot sells repair materials and the spline tool.

Yep, it's the same stuff and the roller tool will work.

Just replaced the screen in lower part of door after my oldest fur baby decided he wanted to chase a squirrel. It is a plastic mesh just like you buy at Lowes or Home depot. You can get the spline and roller tool there also. Took about 15 minutes to replace after getting the old one out.

If it's just that little bit. Tuck it in carefully with a flat blade screwdriver before any more comes loose.

That's exactly what I did. I'm going to buy a bit of extra screen material and spline for our 12 week trip. I can just see the kids putting holes in the mesh LOL.

Maybe preventive maintiance would be a better idea. If I had a dog that bolts or kids, I would be doing a guard.

LOL, they're not that bad. 6 yr old little boys tend to be curious about loose splines and want to pull them. Half the mesh had come off by the time child #2 had finished "exploring".
