How long before water is hot after turning on the water heater?

Since I need about a 10 min shower dialer for my skin condition, I will likely need to run the water heater in propane and electric mode.

How long do I need to turn the system on until the 6 gal heater has heated the water enough?

My first attempt was to turn it on for 6 min. That was not enough as the water was only a little more than lukewarm.

I turn the electric one on and leave it on all the time. I think mine is a 12 gal, but I’ve taken a 25 minute shower and still had hot water. You shouldn’t need to turn propane on at all.

Turn it on both electric and gas, and listen for the gas to turn off. This will tell you when it's hot and how long it takes your trailer's tank to get hot.

I'm thinking about 30 minutes for the initial heat up +-.

Never had a problem with enough hot water during shower etc.

edit: yes, if you use both, then 15 min. It does not take long for a 6 gallon tank.

I let it run for about 15 min. Then I ran the shower at the temp I usually shower at. There was about 10 min of pretty hot water before I ran out.

I'm going to try again tomorrow letting the propane heater run until it turns off as suggested. Let's see how long u can really run thus little water heater for before I run out.

BTW this is with the Oxygenics Fury shower head.

It all depends on the temp of the incoming cold water. In Florida our “cold” water is usually 70+ degrees so getting it to 120 deg doesn’t take much. If the water started out at 50 degrees it would be a different story.

I never run out of hot water, even when on electric only.

Check the outside shower, if the hot and cold are on turn then off. With hot and cold on and the sprayer off the higher pressure cold water will back feed into the hot water lines.

Thanks. Just placed the electric switch on and had hot water in about 15 minutes. I did have the outside shower on from flushing the system. Can't believe the water pressure in our new FW compared to the old MH we had.
