Official Permanent/Home Address
We are going to be full timer RV'ers & need assistance/opinions on what you all do for your permanent address. We currently live in Florida & wanted to keep our address & state of occupancy the same. If we don't have a permanent residence there, does anyone know how that works or what we would need to do?
How does living in a RV full time affect taxes?
Any other input for newbies to full time RV'ing please add.
Thanks for all your help!

Join the Escapees RV Club and read the wealth of information on legal domicile in their library on full-timing. Escapees has an attorney on staff and what they say - and the services they provide - have stood the test in court. In short, you sign up with an RV mail forwarding service that provides you with a PMB type setup and legal address. Escapees offers this service in Texas and Florida (we are Texas "residents" with Escapees). There are several other outfits that offer similar services in the three states that full-timers primarily use (Texas, Florida and South Dakota).

I assume you'll be in Florida most Winters. Use the park as your physical address, PMB you get nearby as mailing and good enough.
You can get escapees if your want but any PMB will work. Escapees really shines for Texas residency although it will work for anyone. There isn't much reason to send your mail to Texas only to be sent back to Florida. Any mail box place will ship to you at your request.

We use Americas Mailbox, South Dakota. No state or local taxes. No inspection or emissions on our vehicles. Only needed to spend one night in SD. Americas Mailbox staff helped us with everything, very nice to deal with.

Ditto on Escapees, but you don't have to join to read their guidance on establishing a domicile address. That part is avbl to non-members. We were Texans prior to going FT and opted to use them to maintain our residency in state. Since you're wanting to remain in FL, they can do that as well, or you can use another service. Just make sure it gives you a legal street address and not a PO box.

We use Americas Mailbox also.
Were going to use Texas but then learned that they passed a new law for annual vehicle inspection and so those that were using Tex. are not transferring to Americas Mailbox so we just came straight up to Rapid City. They took care of address, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance. We spent 20 minutes at the motor vehicle getting our driver's license (no test needed if you already have a valid license). One night in an RV park and a receipt with both of our legal names is all that we needed.....very easy!SOLD my 2017 Momentum 376TH being pulled by a 2014 Ford F-350 Lariat, FX-4, Crew Cab, Longbed, Dually. Not pulling the 5er, catch me on my 2013 CVO Harley Ultra Classic.
Map = states that we've stayed at least one night in our RV.

We lived in Florida and used relatives addresses until it got bothersome for them. Then I looked at the above mentioned services, we didn't want to give up our Florida residents status. Later when we where willing to change states I did some calculations on taxes, registration, vehicle inspection, insurance cost etc. I found that living in FL over a ten year period would be around $400 more expensive, about $40 a year.
So we went with a mail service company that has been used by boat owners for many years. They are called St. Brendan's Isle
They provide a "domicile" address that is good for voting, taxes, vehicle registration, etc. The only trouble we have had with the address is opening new bank accounts. TSA has convinced some banks that you need a physical address, pita.
The folks there have been responsive to our needs and gone out of the way on several occasions to get critical mail to us. They can also open and scan mail, posting the pdf file to your account so you can read it. This has been particularly helpful when we have taken toll roads that use bill you license plate to collect the toll. By the time those are processed and mailed you have only a few days to pay them or an additional late fee is added on.Dallas

We haven't had any problems with banks or credit cards. At the recommendation of Americas Mailbox, we set up with Black Hills Federal Credit Union. BHFCU was great and they finance RV and autos for full-timers. Also you can use associate credit unions all over the country if you need help. Like losing your mac card and needing cash. They must teach customer service in the schools in South Dakota, everyone we met was more then willing to go the extra mile to answer questions and help us.
