    Change in Elevation

For those that have towed a trailer or 5th wheel from Banff to Jasper, what is the elevation change?

Well, we haven't done it yet, but I found this info online. It's from a biking website, but it should be pretty close:

This is a 178.62 mi Bike Ride in Banff, AB, Canada. The Bike Ride has a total ascent of 2219.3 ft and has a maximum elevation of 6,754.17 ft

Curious as to why the concern. 2000 feet is no big deal, 10,000 feet does warrant some consideration.

Here is a handy thing...... Use Google Earth (the app, not the on-line version) to plot a route and get directions from Banff to Jasper (or any two places), once you have the route right click on it and you will see "Snow Elevation Profile". You can then move a slider on the elevation profile to see exactly where the various elevations are along your route. Very hand tool for traveling in the mountains.

    Here is the route.....

No concern, just asking the question.

Are you trying it with Google Earth or Google Maps? You have to use Google Earth.

As near as I know it is only on the app that runs on a computer, not on any mobil device. Sorry - maybe my use of 'app' is misleading....

We towed a fifth wheel over that route with no issues. Don't know the gain but best I can remember is it was nothing to remember or worry about. JMHO
