Jellystone RV Resort in Kerrville TX
Spent the Memorial Day weekend at Jellystone RV Resort in Kerrville. This is very "kid friendly" park with lots for the younger group to do during the day. The splash pad is great for infants up to teen-agers (even us teen-ages in our 60's). Three pools (2 outdoor and 1 heated indoor).
We were happy to see 3 Reflections and 5 Imagines at the park, Grand Design was well represented.
This park was changed to Jellystone about 3 years ago and they are continuing to improve the park and add things to do. However they have changed some 20-30 RV sites into cabins, so if you are thinking about going make your reservations early.
This is my twin grand-daughters favorite park, because of the pools, splash pad and jumping pillow (very into gymnastics). That being said, I was disappointed in our stay this time. They advertised that a new water slide park area would be up and running by May 1st, it isn't even close and the construction made getting around in the park difficult. During this construction they have removed several rv sites, so the other sites have gone up to premium sites with a higher per day cost. Of course they have put most of the construction efforts into the water slide park and premium sites so the rest of the sites have suffered, but the cost has not gone down.
The early summer heat and lack of rain in Central Texas has caused some other problems that are beyond Jellystone's control. The lack of rain has pretty much stopped the flow of the river at the park. This means more snakes and less fish, and the snakes are becoming more in number and more aggressive. My nephew caught a good sized perch but before he could get it reeled in, several snakes had attacked it. Hopefully we'll get a little rain over the summer and the situation will improve.
Overall this is a great park for kids (old and young) and if they get the water slide park opened before summer really sets in it will be a great place to play in the water all day. This park is not cheap, but for all the activities available it is worth the price.Les and Sharon Bevil

We stayed there a few years back, pretty much the same reason we had the Grandkids with us and it was a fun place for them. They are native Texans and live on a small farm, they know about snakes.
Many places that we have gone to and go back to are different because of varying weather conditions. Keeps life interesting.Dallas
