Sierra 3500HD B&W companion hitch
Will be towing a 2019 solitude 310GK. I am installing the hitch and would like input about where I should locate the support arms for the head. Thank you in advance.

Slider or fixed hitch? I have the BW 20k Champion fixed hitch (RVK3300) in my long bed. I run it with the arms in the rearward position. Puts the king pin 1" in front of the rear axle according to BW. This gives me a little (2") more clearance between the truck and trailer. With the tail gate down, there is not much clearance as is. Switching the arms tot he forward position will only shift about 15# on my long wheel base (176") truck. It will be a little more (but not much) with a short bed. I thick with your short bed, you will want the arms mounted rearward to get a little more cab clearance.

Goaltender, you may be able to fine tune your hitch position relative to the cab by placing the arms forward or rearward combined with using different fore or aft holes in the hitch base. I just did a reposition of the arms to be able to access the front storage compartment while hitched. We have plenty of cab clearance while turning. Happy travels!
