    Back up camera

Installed the Haloview MC7101, works great, very clear video as you can see here:

Mounted it on the back wall, pulled power from the middle marker light as we always have lights on when towing.

That seems to be a much clearer and brighter image than my Furrion...

Yes that's a very clear looking picture, our Furrion is grainy.

I have mine mounted with 3M double-sided body molding tape right now, but am planning to make it permananent soon. How did you anchor it, and did you run the wire inside to the camera location or down the surface from the light?

    Thanks,

    John

One of the questions on Amazon asked about camera to monitor range/connectivity. A person replied that they are having difficulty with it staying connected. How has your luck been with it?

I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the marker light box, fished a stiff wire down to make sure there were no obstructions. Then drillled a 1” hole for the camera lead. Used that same wire to pull camera lead back up to the market light where I connected it to the marker light wires. If you do it the same way, drill your hole about 1” right of dead center, so you don’t hit an aluminum strut runining vertical there. I drilled dead center and grazed the strut which deflected my bit to the right. No big problem because the camera mount covered the hole. I anchored the camera with sheet metal screws dipped in RV caulk.

It’s been very good and I was concerned about that because the camera antenna is below the roof line and I have the monitor sitting on the console in the front seat. Usually have 4 bars of blue tooth signal, and it does black out a couple of times an hour.

I removed the marker light and found the inside was surrounded by metal. Is that what you mean by the "box" you drilled a hole in? I called GD and was told that is a cross beam and should not be drilled into. I don't see any other way to get wires to the marker light. My unit is the 2014 303RLS.

I think GD has to say that to cover themselves. They advised not to mount anything they did not do at the factory. I'll have to decide what to do now.
