Grease skid plate with Turning Point?

I was going to use a plastic lube plate that came with my Curt hitch, but the wedge for the Turning Point pin box interferes with it. I asked the dealer whether I should grease the skid plate and he said not to bother as it makes a mess and there is no movement anyway between the skid plate and the pin box. But the skid plate is starting to wear at the corners, showing the metal below.

Should I grease it or leave it clean and dry?

I think you dealer is correct once you are hitched up, but during the process of hitching up doesn't the skid plate and pin box slide against each other? (that's the case with my Pullrite). I've started spraying WD40 on the skid plate each time I hitch up because the paint was wearing off the skid plate.

You could also use a product like Slip Plate, which is a graphite lube that dries and will not attract dirt.

x2 Slip plate is a great product and is NOT messy. Works great on my turning point. I spray the king pin, bottom of the plate as well as the 5th wheel.
