Question Accurate high pressure tire gauge

    Hello folks,

I apologize for asking what i would have thought was a super common question, but I've tried searching a few times and the words "tire" and "pressure" seem to return about half the threads on the board

Can anyone recommend a good, accurate brand of tire pressure gauge that goes up to 120. I've looked at the brands of the ones i've used in the past for when i raced cars and the max their products seem to go to is 100psi.

I appreciate any info and sorry again if i've missed something obvious that's already here.

I do not have a specific recommendation, but two comments. 1) Most gauges are most accurate and repeatable at their mid-point. If you are running load range G tires on your Momentum, (I did not see a year in your profile) plan for cold pressure of 110 PSI and hot pressures of 125~130. I would want a gauge that goes 180~200 PSI max to put your pressures closer to mid-scale. The down side is the resolution (PSI marks) get smaller or larger jump the higher the max the gauge reads. 2) I have a Jaco 160 PSI gauge from Amazon. Inexpensive and reads fairly consistent, but it has 2" gauge and is hard to read the final PSI. I wish it had a 2-1/2" or 3" gauge. I am thinking of getting a larger gauge and putting it on the hose/bleeder assembly.

Let us know what you find.

Bought this from Amazon...works great on my dually too. Only issue is the head is threaded making it sometimes tricky to get on and off the valve stem quickly.

Try the AutoMeter Performance Tire Pressure Gauges 2165. It has a pressure range from 0-150 psi and Accuracy: 2.5% FS (+/- 3.75 PSI). This should work for you. I personally use Longacre guages, but they only go to 100 psi.

Went for digital gauge b/c analog dial's marks are a bit small.
Pressure gauge only - AstroAI Digital Tire Pressure Gauge, 180 PSI
Air Chuck with Gauge - Milton S-577D Pro Digital Pistol Grip Inflator Gauge
I usually swap out the chuck for longer - Milton S-693-12 1/4" FNPT Extended Reach Dual Head Air Chuck

I have had many gauges over the years, but I never had a means to validate the absolute accuracy of any of them. So I use a long gauge that I bought at a truck stop. As long as all the tires read the same thing on that gauge I am happy. I have used other gauges in conjunction with it, but have less than 5 pound difference on a 110psi tire and the truck stop gauge.

I just accept what the tire pressure gauge is telling me, kinda cross check with TPMS. I don't expect I'll run by a tire store to see if they have a yearly calibrated master air pressure gauge to compare to. Tire Gauge Care & Use - Imperial Supplies

At work on instrumentation it was a bit different:
Check Test Gauge against Deadweight Tester at Low, Med, Hi scale values, read to nearest 1 psig before each day's use.
3 points on the Test Gauge must be within +-2psi

Snap On. About $140. 1/2 lb resolution. Very precise trigger. I can set all tires to within 1 lb of each other. Lifetime warranty.
