Water heater works on propane but not on electric
So we are on our maiden voyage... We arrived yesterday afternoon and hooked up to a 50amp site. I put the water heater on electric after priming the lines and burping the pressure relief valve. After about 2hrs on electric, I still had no hot water. I heard a humming sound so I figured it had been working. After switching to gas it fired up and worked. Anyone know what I may be doing wrong or what the problem may be with the unit?

Could be a few things.
Most common is that the heater itself is not plugged in to an outlet.
Second, check the breaker panel to make sure the electric is turned on for the water heater.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

Does yours have a tiny rocker switch on the heater itself? I had one which I couldn't see because it was kind of hidden from my view. My wife is shorter and saw it.

I have had a similar problem except it would work on electric then it would fail and I would receive a DFI light. I took the unit in. The second time I took it in they replaced the cut board. It is still doing the same thing.
I am able to run it in propane relatively consistently.
Good luck finding an answer.
