TV Tires
Did a search prior to asking this question and there are numerous posts and discussions regarding tires on the trailers but I was wondering if anyone has any strong recommendations on TV tires. I run Michelin LTX A/T 2 275/65 R20s on my F250, and as my daily driver have been well satisfied, but as I approach 60k will need to replace them soon. My only discontent is that on a couple of occasions I have had poor traction in grass and sand. I have received recommendations for the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac by a co-worker hauling a dry van trailer but not a TT. Thoughts from the group? For discussion's sake I am probably a 85% highway driver, 15% towing.
Thanks for your thoughtsLee and Michelle

We just replaced all six (DRW truck with 17s) with Michelin Defenders. The OEM Grabbers that were replaced at about 42K miles still had good tread and ran smoothly - they were just aging out. The Defenders have a more open tread and pick up rocks in campgrounds and on gravel roads a bit more.

I’m about to put Nittos G2’s on when I throw my wheels on. 305/55/20’s on my F250. Had them before and they are still quiet enough and have better traction. Pretty close to factory weight rating in the E load range.

I've run every tire imaginable. I will no longer buy anything but a Michelin for my vehicles. I've never had one let me down and they wear incredibly well. My dad once got 90,000 miles on a set of Michelins mounted on his F-250. Nothing else I've ever used will stand up to a Michelin. I have zero motivation to push Michelins outside my personal experience. They always seem to cost a little more and I pay it and move on.
My 2016 Chev came with Michelins from the factory. Lots of heavy towing, 40,000 miles and they are still in terrific shape. I do rotate and balance every 5,000 miles.

I’ve been running Goodyear since 1984, and have had one flat tire, when I ran over a pair of tin snips.

Lee - I have no tire recommendations for you, but suggest you visit Tire Rack.com. You can search for tires in your size and then read reviews from users of each tires. You can even screen the reviews so you only look at users with 2500 series trucks (eliminates the mini-van crowd).

Like you I have run the Michelin tires for over 10 years. I keep looking at the Cooper Discoverer series. Just can't make up my mind. I will have to decide this fall as my Michelin AT/X are getting down to replacement.

Dallas,
I have been quite satisfied with my Cooper tires on my 1977 F250. I've had them for 6 years or so and they still look great. They do very well in the winter up here.

Hi Dallas,
Very quiet. I don't care for loud tires either.
