Where to dump freshwater
Is it acceptable to dump freshwater anywhere? Or is there some etiquette/ laws involved?

Well I try to be courteous to the next site user and not dump at the camp site, since it is "fresh" water it is safe to dump anywhere. Dump near a sewer or storm drain, otherwise in the grass . If you dump on dirt it will just make a muddy mess.
Typically I leave about 10 gal in the fresh tank and pump the rest into the black tank to dump . The higher the black tank level it the better it flushes out.

As long as you are not flooding or making a mess of your campsite or someone else’s, draining fresh water is usually not a problem. Sometimes just cracking the valve open for a slow drain is a better plan.
I put an extension on my fresh water tank drain so that I can use a garden or sewer hose to direct the water to where it drains away with no mess. https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...ain-Extension?

So long as it isn't going to impact anyone's use of the area we will let it fly.

Just did this. Created a slow, easy drain (slightly more than a trickle), and let it slowly go for about an hour.

Ditto. I rarely do it in my site, but though I've had sewer hookup will often pull into a parks sewer dump area and release there if needed. We full time, rarely use our FW, but I always carry some and rotate it monthly. YMMV

Pull out to the street and crank it open and head down the street. You will have a lot nice people pull along side and wave at you while it’s draining...
