Naviks' Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera Bypass for Ford Truck -- A Review

Okay, I have serious RV-Envy right now....

I am only interested in the Ford TPMS part, and a quick google search shows $500 for it. Steep but I’m still interested. What is this tow package you speak of? Could it be possible my truck DOESN’T have what’s needed for me to install the tpms...or have it installed? I love the in-dash monitoring...

Do you run “metal valve stems” like I’ve seen others mention?

You need a package from Ford to use even the TPMS portion. I am midway through my install, found someone selling theirs on a forum for below list. The kit from Ford requires a new plug that replaces the 7/4 pin connector at the bumper. If you want to move this new receptacle into the bed, you need a special cable and box, I got mine from Nicolas Manufacturing but it is a few hundred dollars as well. I think you need the tow technology package from Ford, but the easy way to tell would be to look in your trailer settings in the dash and see if you have the option to configure trailer TPMS. I had the options in the dash before I did anything with any of the parts.

No problem, if it’s in there I can go into more detail. I’m debating whether I am going to use the camera portion or not, leaning towards it since I have it, but I bought it mainly for the TPMS.

Oh well, no luck. I have no TPMS setting in any menu related to a trailer.... that is super slick tho! Told wife it’s just another thing to add to the next Tow Vehicle! Thank you!

I wonder if the TPS on the fiver will work with G rated steel sidewall tires. I do know that Ford says the ones on the truck will not work on steel casing tires. They do....Wondering about the trailer....

Will have to check for the trailer TPMS. Have the light check which is nice. Also did not get the camera in the 3rd eye for 5ver hook up. Speaking of tire pressure Howard, do you have any slow leaks? Seems my valve stem is leaking (5 psi or so per week)

Nope. No leaks.

Thanks Howard. Have heard there is a problem with the steel valve stems and aluminum wheels. Have taken truck in to dealer and got the lazy service guy. no leaks. Then Les Schwab and they rebuilt the TMPS still no luck. Back to the dealer as I want the frozen door recall done

Howard - any recent updates on your Naviks Camera Bypass system? I was almost ready to pull the trigger until your last post regarding bugs in the turn signal performance. Ever figure out why the intermittent action?
