    Mounting 6kw Onan in 2918 310 GK-R

Is it possible to mount a 6 kw diesel Onan and fuel tank in the front storage area of the 2018 310 GK-R Solitude? If so please provide details on how to.
If not what other alternatives are there?

I'll start by saying anything is possible...it probably can be done, although the diesels are a little bit large. I would consider a LPG powered 5.5kw Onan instead. That would eliminate the installation of a fuel tank, and will fit for sure.

Check the weight. I think that gen is over 400 lbs. We had one in a Tiffin Class A MH and it's a wonderful generator. Lots of power and super quiet.

    Thanks for the information.
Will the 5.5kw provide sufficient energy to operate both ac units in peak summer months?

I had a Winnebago Class A with the Onan 5.5K and it ran both AC just fine. Mine was a gas generator. In looking at the excellent publication below, it looks like the LP model has the same power output as the gas model (45.8 amps).

Note that I posted what would appear to be two conflicting posts. They are regarding two different motor homes and are both accurate.

Yes. A 5.5 will power 2 A/C units with room to spare. I have the gasoline version in my Momentum and can run 2 of 3 A/C’s, the fridge, coffee pot, converter, TV and various other very small loads.

I have an Onan 5500 quiet diesel. It is mounted in the bed of my truck (2017 Chevy 3500 LB) behind a 60 gallon diesel tank and plumbed into it. The tank has an electric pump to fill the truck with also. I used it for the first time this weekend and it worked awesome! Ran both of the my A/C units while at 9200 ft of elevation with no issues. It is very quiet and hasn't created any issues being in the bed of the truck.

Judging from the thread title, you'll have to wait 900 years to find out! LOL

Thanks for sharing. I will look into the 5.5 diesel.
Can you provide more information on your custom rear trailer hitch for the 310GK? I'm interested.
