    EMS-HW50C on 367BHS - I AM AN IDIOT

Yep, I said it. After watching a simple video about this product I went ahead and bought it for well documented reasons. It arrived and I neglected to notice that for me, this does not work well, at least not without A LOT of work. What do I mean? Well I have to basically cut the shore power cord and splice this box in between the two pieces. Simple enough, but this rig does not have the cord inside at any point. The 30 ft shore cord goes from pedestal to the back of the rig. So I am left with the following options, I think.
1 Sell it and replace it with the pedestal type of similar joules etc.
2 Create some sort of weather tight box on the underside of the rig to serve as a housing for the EMS-HW50C....not what I want because I think whatever I do, it's going to expose this ting to the elements and thats not good.
3 Route the cable, buy more as needed, into the docking area, do the connection and then route the entire length of cord to the rear of the unit, providing some sort of storage for the end while transiting, again it would be exposed....
4 Something else ? Any ideaS?

Where is your power distribution panel? You can pull the incoming power from the panel, then run a short new length from the EMS to the panel mounting the EMS behind the panel or nearby compartment.

This is what most folks do.

Here is a video showing how to do it:

I believe it is center rig, behind the false wall in the basement. To be frank, it's tight in there and while and option not a great one if anying needs managing afterward....

I mounted mine behind the wall in the basement. It is tight but makes it convenient for mounting the display in the convenience panel, the display is what you’ll need to access anyway. The distribution panel though you should have access to from inside the rig, as that is where the breakers and fuses are.

Yes - behind the panel. Buy an extra 18" or so of the heavy cable to go between the EMS and the panel so you don't have to cut the original and work with tight/short lengths.

I wonder if you could send it back in exchange for the portable version.

I installed mine behind the circuit breaker box like in the video above.

You should by some 6/3 nm-b stranded cable from local Home Depot or Lowes. They sell it by the foot at the store. I bought 6 feet and had lots left over.

Here is another idea.... the 50 amp receptacle on the side of your camper and comes off easily and you can quickly disconnect the wiring. Then you can route that cabling into the output of your EMS. Get a new piece of wiring and connect it to your 50 amp receptacle and route it to the input of your EMS.

To make things a bit easier you can order or find locally some 8/4 SO flexible cable.

or...... stop by my place and I'll help you set all this up.
