    Kansas to Wisconsin

We’re thinking about a trip to either Wisconsin Dells or the state parks on the shore of the Great Lakes. We’ve never been up that direction and would love some insight into things for a family of four to do? We enjoy hiking, fishing, golf. Any can’t miss attractions?

Check out Door County. Very popular. A number of state parks and private campgrounds on the peninsula. Reservations recommended.

Be prepared for bumper to bumper traffic if you go to the Dells. Great water parks but tons of traffic.

Kohler-Andrae State Park is another beautiful park on the shore of Lake Michigan. it is south of Door County and also very popular- reservations recommended.

Dan's recommendation for Devils Lake State Park is a good one. Deep, clear lake surrounded by high bluffs. Popular with scuba divers and rock climbers.

On your way to Lake Michigan, Devils Tower State Park is a highly rated place. We hiked around the lake last year with our daughter, SIL, grandson, and Golden Doodle and it was excellent. The park facilities are top notch and the campground is booked way in advance. We stayed at Fox Hill Campground about a 1/2 hour away and it too is a top rated private facility. Fox Hill is only a few minutes south from the Dells as well. Here is the link to Devils Tower SP: https://www.devilslakewisconsin.com/

The Dells has many varied attractions to lessen your cash/increase your credit card balance. The Duck boats are the signature item of the Dells and should considered if in your wheelhouse. There is also a spectacular water park (many acres) with multiple pools as well as several others as signature Dells attractions too. We have not been to Lake Michigan WI side so hopefully someone can share information on that.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply. We really appreciate your insight.
