29RS Reflection Fifth Wheel Atwood Refrigerator Failure on electric mode
We have a 2015 Reflection and the Atwood refrigerator has stopped working on the electric mode but still works on gas mode. We called the manufacture who states they no longer make this model and they have a limited amount of parts available once we figure out why. We had read in previous forums that a lot of owners are having the exact same issue of electric mode failure, Atwood did not do a recall because it is recall only if it is a safety issue, they do not install these refrigerators and therefore it falls on Grand Designs shoulders who would have installed, so my question is what is the issue we are having, part # that we need and is Grand Design helping its customers because this is widespread issue with a lot of owners?? Please help, thank you

They can be reached at 574-825-9679
Please be patient with them today as they are experiencing some power outage issues.
Thank you!

Sack - see this thread and my post 279 where you can order heater elements. I replaced my Atwood electric heater element last year late summer. You can read other posts and learn more as well.

Sackd01 - This is a well documented problem with the Atwood fridge. Most likely the electric heating element from your description of the problem. This is a very long thread discussing everything about this with some suggestions on how to diagnose whether or not this is the problem and where to get a replacement part if it is. https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...Failure/page9? When you get to post #212 , I provided an attachment on how to change the heating element.

Hi, more than likely the Heating element went out. If you open up the bottom vent outside you will see a canister or metal tube on the right side. There is a metal rod that is inserted in that tube and there are a couple wires coming out. That is the part that failed. It’s #14044 a 300 watt heating element. I have had this fail twice, it’s pretty easy to replace. GD was no help but I called Dometic customer service and bought two. You can find them on the internet but they are pricey. If that doesn’t fix it, it could be the control board. But likely it’s the element.
