Being a 100% disabled veteran I get 50% off camping in Virginia, 50% off all entry fees in Florida parks. There"s a lot of discounts out there if you just look. Google Veteran discounts and they will tell you of lot's of them in all of the state's.

Next time you are in a Florida Check on this. Florida offers a free Lifetime Annual pass to any Service Connected veteran. Doesn’t have to be 100%. Can be anything from 0%-100. It just needs to be Service Connected. Just bring a copy of award letter or VA card showing Service Connected. That card also gives you 50% discount on camping in Florida State parks. It also gives you Free admittance at the park gate for you and anyone in your car.

Actually anyone with a handicap tag can enter into FL parks free. Just hang it on the mirror and they wave you by.

Plus Texas honors many of the service awards you might have received and gives you one set of License plates a year for free. Proudly display my Meritorious Service Medal plates on my car and truck.

Some states waive property tax all together. Our home state MICH. is and I know that Florida does too. Here in MICH. our DV plates our $10.00 and are good till they actually change plate designs. Mine was good for 5 years.

I would say that my biggest savings is health care. It's all free including prescriptions. (it's not free, he paid for it in advance with his health)They take pretty good care of me. I'm there at least 6 times a year. They have signs posted at the desks saying if you have waited more than 15 minutes go up to the desk and let them know.

Let me amaze you just a bit. On May 23 I called my local VA clinic and asked for an appointment with my PCP. They said they would call me back in two weeks to three months with an appointment. We're now two days short of two months since I asked for an appointment.

I'm not to upset as the purpose of my visit is to try to get into the Choice Program and I think they are proving that they have inadequate capacity for even primary care.

I agree it does take time to get an appointment and this is something that needs to be addressed. I'm sure they could shorten the time with overbooking but that isn't the way to do it. That would mean overworked doctors not spending the time truly needed to to take care of their patients. I believe they are just overwhelmed with the number of patients they have now. With their secure messaging if you need to see them right away you can get a message to your doctor to see if you could be squeezed in.
