Hopefully not a side track or hi-jack, but what is a reasonable price range for an alignment? I found one RV center locally (Transwest - North of Denver) that has the equipment to check (Hunter heavy truck laser alignment) and "adjust" the alignment (he would not give me any details how they "adjust"). He guaranteed me that "every trailer needs a full alignment" (I think he was kind of setting the tone) and it is $125/Hr and better plan at least 4 hours, maybe 6 hr for difficult units. So $500 to $750. Sounds high to me, but I have nothing to base it off of. Trying to call other shops to compare.

Thank you for your help and insight

PS If you know a good alignment shop around Northern Colorado/Southern Wyoming, please let me know.

Sounds to me like they just don't want the business...they're more about covering their butt...which I can't really blame em for if they're already busy...I would look for another shop.

Adjusting means bending your axle in order to get the proper toe and camber on your wheels. I had my previous triple axle done at a large local truck shop last year. Laser alignment and bearings inspected and repacked. All the outer bearings had to be replaced. It was a little over 1K Canadian. U need to go to a truck shop to get a proper job done. Using plumb bobs and string as I have seen in some posts does not do a proper job.

It sounds high to me, too. Steve Gravelle, a member on the forum, has quite a bit of experience with the Hunter system. If he doesn't chime in here soon, you might contact him and ask for his input:

I have used that Transwest location before. They do quality work. They will give you a print out showing the allignment on all four wheels before and after and show you on the print out how much each wheel was out. I have not had any issues since the last time they aligned my 337 a few years ago. Alignment used to be around $275, but last quote was in the $500 range.

Thank you everyone for your inputs. I am still calling around and trying to get a better feel for pricing and capability.
