I'm a whitetail guy, but would love to get out west and chase elk/mulies. I worked at a taxidermy shop in college.

Currently shooting a hoyt, but might return to Matthews for my next bow if I get it before the halon is replaced.

One of the big appeals of the imagines is the larger, heated tanks. They might save me from sits in a cold out house a little longer into the season since we dry camp for it.

I'm heading out for a muley hunt on 8/22 in the White Mountains of Arizona. It's public land at 9,000+ elevation. You can purchase a license and tag over the counter, so no drawing is needed like it is for elk. If you want to look at it on a map, it's near Hannagan Meadow AZ. Hook up your trailer and join us.

I appreciate the offer, and if it stands I might just take you up on it some day, but not this year. Gotta buy the camper first!

Got ya - Mark it down for 2021. Heading to the Elkhart rally next year, and Alaska in 2020.

Never tried Arizona for elk but, everything I've heard is it is great. The drawing has always scared me off. I love elk hunting though. My places have always been Colorado and Utah. Can't even count how many times I've gone. My first Non-resident Colo. elk tag was $25, same for mule deer and both were over the counter.

I missed your post Brian. But I did harvest a nice muley buck. 40 yard shot. The venison is wonderful.

Great job Jim. You must have a honey hole there.
The venison taste from the west is really different than here in the east. It is all what they eat.
Trying to get back out there for some kinda huntin maybe next fall.
