Had a little international adventure over the weekend

The reason we go crazy some days living in a camper with two tikes is made up for all the great times we get to have with them. This past weekend we left the camper behind on the southern side of the Strait of Juan and ventured over to Canada's Vancouver Island to camp at Goldstream Provincial Park.

The campground alone was a real pleasure. It really was great seeing a campground full of kids riding bikes, playing on the playground, playing games, amphitheater packed for the nightly events and just all around what a campground should be! It's what really is missing in many Park type campgrounds here in the states.

Was easy staying busy when we were able to pry them from the playground and bike coarse. Went to Butchart Gardens, Beacon Hill Park, BC Aviation Museum open house, the naval and army museum in the naval base, the butterfly gardens, Chinatown and got in some hiking and biking ourselves. Got back to the camper late last night and today are resetting the gear for a few days at Mount St Helens tomorrow.

We almost feel bad for the people who spend their free time cutting grass and watching TV. Almost!

Playing at Niagara Falls. Probably much nicer experience than it's more known cousin.

The bike track at Goldstream is seriously one of the best things we have ever seen at a campground!

Nice sunset ferry ride back to the states.


And a nice note from some fellow full timers when we got back. Apparently it was a bit crazy here over the weekend with some of the weekend campers! Yet another plus of the full time life, the friends we get to make!

We are from the southeast ourselves, lots of great places there too, just not as consolidated as all the ones we went to up here this weekend.
