2019 Reflection 337RLS Generator Installation

So I tend to do a lot of dry camping during deer season here in Texas, and a generator is a must. And I don't want to have to pull it in and out of the truck bed.

I'm planning on putting a Honda EU3000is on a 100% 1000# slide out in the port side storage opening, and I'm looking for a drawing of the structure under the flooring of the through storage area, so that I can bolt the slide in properly.

I've already done a battery upgrade in the forward storage by adding a ¾" treated plywood board screwed in from the underside metal pan to re-enforce the floor, and suspect I may/may not have to do the same in the storage bay.

Interesting. Is your plan to run it while it's in the compartment or is it just for storage? If so I will be interested in how you manage fuel and exhaust. The unit should be nice and quiet for certain but definitely some hurdles.

By Installing the slider, I can pull it completely out of the bay, which means it will not exhaust or run while in the storage bay. When we are done using it, let it cool down and slide it back in, lock it in place.

I have a Eyedro power sensor on both my 200A (house) and 100A (shop) panels, so I can monitor power consumption. So for example I started with just the refrigerator running on AC. Its consistently running 5.5 amps of draw. I turn on the TV and the AppleTV I'm at 6.8 amps of draw. When the main AC kicks on it goes up to roughly 18.5 amps (with all of the other stuff still running). So with the EU3000is (and this would be for dry camping, so the refrigerator will be on propane) I should be able to live quite comfortably for periods of time when/if I need the AC on.

Well I’ve finished the installation. And no sooner that it was done I needed it where we were camping for about an hour.

The slide out I made has two 500# slides and the generator is secured using bolts from the underside going into the generator. I get the same amperage as a 30a service provides and the Honda Eu3000is is very quiet when under load.

The one thing is to make sure that your windows are closed on so no exhaust comes in.

Nice installation. For peace of mind and safety, you should consider a good CO detector with a digital readout. Low level CO exposure can cause health effects. https://www.kidde.com/home-safety/en...ety/co-alarms/
