I had the same problem and replaced with the same one you did. No issues after 6 months.

Hey Jim, have you tried your furnace since you changed out the regulator? I can't get mine to run. I can hear it fire but it won't catch. Very similar to the high altitude issue some folks experience.

If the furnace does not light at higher altitudes you can try to adjust the air flow mixing tube. Open it up for "more" air since you don't have enough.(maybe?)

It's not an altitude issue. I'm on the northern California coast.

Since changing the regulator I've run the furnace only once and it worked as usual. If your problem is low flow, you may have to visit a "Propane Guy" and see if they can test. Best of luck.
