    LED Light Out

An LED ceiling light in the living room is not working. Can anyone tell me how to replace it? Here's a picture. Also, in case anyone is wondering, the plate over the fixture unscrews. Don't pull it off! :-)

Looks like you need a Phillips screwdriver and a soldering iron.

Just curious, have you checked for voltage acros the black and white wires? It is pretty unusual for an LED light to go bad.

Some of the ceiling lights have spring arms that hold the light up into the ceiling's hole. So have to pry between the light & ceiling to start the spring arms opening, they're strong.

That's how you remove it. The whole light is replaced as a unit. Careful, those springs are as strong as mouse traps, I can see it really causing some finger harm if it slips and closes back on your finger. I had one fail and called GD, they sent me a replacement.

We've not checked the voltage. I thought it was unusual to go out as well. It's still under warranty so I may give GD a call like FT4Now has done.

    Thanks all for the suggestions!

Update: called GD and they said we had to work with the dealer. Instead we found the parts number on the GD website, ordered it on Amazon and replaced it today. Was easy to do and light works great.
