Weekend on a Volcano

A couple of weeks ago we decided to head down to Mount St. Helens to do some camping and hopefully see it this time since it was fogged in on our trip out here. We checked the weather and it was supposed to be 95 degrees. Being as we have been set up right on the Strait of Juan all summer and the hottest we have seen is about 70, we noped right out of that. Last minute we decided to head to Mount Rainier instead since it was going to be in the 70's. With no reservations and no idea if we would even get a site, we hit the road about noon. We got lucky and did get a site both nights, one night at Cougar Rock and another at White River campgrounds. Really nice campgrounds, all though I don't think there is any way we would have been able to bring the camper and fit it in. Weather was awesome the whole time and the mountain stayed nice and clear. Beautiful park that we hope to visit some more of and get more into the back country before we leave the PNW.
