    Landing gear switch failure.

Looks like I found another part to pack. We moved from our PA campground to VA. When setting up my landing gear would not lower. Switch failed internally. Robbed the stabilizer switch from the back and one of the terminals broke. Getting a couple delivered to campground. Will jumper the wires if needed. Little things to keep to keep you busy.

You can also switch the wires on the bad switch(retract to extend or vice versa) to get by.

We pack one but may go for broke and travel with 2 spares. We just replaced the rear switch upon arriving home from the Goshen IN rally yesterday. A new one for the glovebox is on the way as I type. There are 3 spots for those rockers on our 303 and so far each has been replaced at least one time, they seem to have about a 2 year lifespan.

This is a very common problem. Unless GD has changed vendors, the landing gear/stabilizer rocker switches they use are designed to fail. There is a small plastic tab going from the rocker to the interior of the switch body to actuate a switch slide that has a fairly strong spring. It's only a matter of a small number of uses before that little plastic tab shears off. I replaced both of ours with another brand that's designed differently and haven't had a problem in the two years since. I still carry spares, though...

Here's what I got from Amazon. Installed easy and has worked so far. Will carry spares.

Not at all. The first one was purchased at a local RV repair business in southern Louisiana where we were when the OEM switch broke. I made sure it was constructed differently than the OEM switch. The second one and spares I'm pretty sure I ordered from Amazon as did jamieline - but I can't find it in my order history... sorry!

That's the "rule of spares" . . . if you have a spare part on hand, you will never need to use it . The only things that break are the things that you don't (yet) carry spares for. (I have also replaced mine and now carry spares)

One word of caution . . . reversing switches of this configuration come with different current capabilities. Make sure you replace the switch with one rated for at least 30A.
