John, I see you were in Haines. Looks like you made a quick stop but did you get to the Hammer Museum?

Highway 1 around Swift River was pretty bad too.
Well, the road from Tok to Destruction Bay was the worst. The part closest to Destruction Bay, yikes! My husband thinks that's where the damage to our leaf spring holder started. The stretch of Top of the World westbound after the border (between there and Chicken) was also pretty bad.

I don't recall any issues with highway 40 out of Grand Cache. Same for Swift River.

That's amazing. We did the 2 week Alaska cruise a couple of years ago and we were amazed. But doing it in an RV, as the great late Dick Enberg would say, "Oh my." Sounds awesome!

It was. And, as rough as the roads were, we'd do it again.

Yes it’s pretty good. Looks of interesting stuff and things I’ve never heard of. If anyone is in Haines it’s worth the stop. Of course it may not open on time due to the owner also ties up the cruise ships when in town.
The Bald Eagle Foundation is a good one also.

Yes we also saw the bald eagles and watched them eat out of a woman's hand, pretty cool.

Amazing trip, we are starting to plan an Alaskan excursion as well, I’m curious, did you book any stays in advance? I noticed you stayed a couple of days in Banff and Jasper, if so how far in advance did you have to book?

Yes, Banff, Jasper, Liard Hot Springs,& Denali all made in March for June arrival.
Banff is the Canadian equivalent of Yosemite, so don't delay on those.
Denali has several parks as I'm sure you've seen. We really like Teklanika because it's the deepest spot in the park where you can take your rig.
As you can see by our spreadsheet, most of our spots were spur of the moment, wonderful places along the road, very picturesque.
