    Water heater

First trip in First RV. Hooked to city water. Water heater is leaking water down outside of trailer. It has quit. Any ideas?

Open the door of the water heater and see if you can tell exactly where it is leaking. My first suspicion is the over pressure relief valve was not seating properly but might be doing so now.

It comes and goes. The water is quite hot so I suspect it is pressure relief valve. I have turned off water heater and will turn it back on in the morning. Looked to see if there was an adjustment but could not find one

See the information brochure that came with your trailer for the procedure to re-establish the air cushion inside the the water heater to stop the pressure relief valve from occasionally dripping water. This is a normal situation.

The process is to shut off city/pump pressure. Open the pressure relief and then briefly open the cold low point drain (or the outside shower cold tap will usually work). Then "snap" closed the pressure relief valve. Close the tap and turn the water back on. This is something that needs to be done every couple of weeks or so, with regular use.

Would a Potable water expansion tank be a feasible option?

Several owners have installed Potable expansion tanks to reduce short cycling of the water pump.

You still should follow procedure that Rob described to provide the air cushion in the water heater.
