Where did you put the HW50C in your 28BH? I plan to order a 28BH in October and I'm planning to install a HW50c as soon as I get it. I've considered putting it under the rear cabinets and in the pass through area near the power supply panel.

I installed it in the basement just to the left of the divider wall. That said I did it as a part of my inverter install, so I had a new main panel in that compartment as well. That said there was plenty of room on the other side of the divider wall to put it right next to the oem breaker panel.

Thanks for all the input. Went with the ems-pt50x just because I had the 30 amp version before.

Hi. We are doing the same thing and was wondering if you had a diagram or schematic so we know which wires?

Schematics and instructions will be included with your EMS.

It'll be explained in the manual for the EMS, but you'll want to remove the main power cable from the breaker panel and wire that to the input of the EMS, and wire the output of the EMS into the breaker panel. It'll be pretty straightforward with two hots, a neutral and a ground. Neutral should be white and I think the ground was bare or green. The hots should be red and black.

Another approach is to remove the receptacle from the side wall of the trailer, take the cable off it and install that on the *output* side of the EMS, and install new cable from the input side of the EMS out to the receptacle. This avoids messing around at the breaker panel, which can be challenging to access and work on (the wires are 6-gauge, stiff and cumbersome to work with).

If the trailer has a generator - or at least generator prep - installed then the EMS can instead be inserted to monitor / protect from both shore power and generator power, also not involving the breaker panel.

Clear and easy instructions in the manual.
