We had a friend who was pulling a U-Haul trailer that forgot to lock the rear handle. a lot of their stuff lies somewhere between Cincinnati and Louisville. I guess he never looked in the rear view mirror until the first stop.

Here is our check list. When leaving, make sure we have the trailer. When returning, make sure we have the trailer.

The most important thing is just do a good walk around the rig and look everything over.

PA, We camp 5 weekends in spring and fall, leaving the trailer on the site during the week. One weekend when we were intending to bring her home, we arrived at the trailer and realized we forgot to mount the hitch on the truck! No biggie-half hour each way.
