My site was reserved so there was no moving. I pick the last site where I aim the generator exhaust toward the road out where there are no sites. Its really not loud where you can have a conversation next to it, but I still feel uncomfortable running it. There was a fellow next to me on the back side that was running 4 lead acid batteries. When I shut it off I did not hear clapping so maybe I was ok. Lol!

I never watch the tube while dry camping. I only run my Yamaha 2000 IF I need to charge my batteries (have a 100 w solar), I'll do it in the middle of the day. The last time I was dry camping some yahoo was running their gen when I got there around 11 in the morning & ran it till 10PM. Then they turned it on at 9 the next morning....it was still on when I got back from fishing at about 3. Some people just don't get it.
I really use to like that lake.Paul, Sue & Wonder Dog Zane
