I have "D" rings in the pu box. How do the chains attach to the 5er?

This is what one of my chains looks like:

The spring hook(left side of picture) attaches to the Andersen adapter eye bolt. The left side attaches to the trucks D rings. The middle carabiner attaches to the emergency brake switch cable.

Andersen sells a plate that attaches to the gooseball and chains can attach there.

Or if you have the Ford OEM 5th Wheel Kit you can drill holes in the baseplate like I did and attach the chains to the the ford pucks.

With my 2017 Ram the rear pucks were accessible without modifying the AUH. The quick release chain loops came with the B&W quick release gooseneck ball.

I wasn’t aware of that new plate that attaches to the gooseball. The issue I see with that is both the hitch and chains are dependant on the gooseball remaining attached to the truck. If for some reason the gooseball comes unattached from the truck bed, both the hitch and the chains go too. Having said that, not sure what the probability of that happening would be. Given the choice, if I owned a Ford, I’d take that choice over drilling 2 holes in the base frame of the hitch.

Luckily on my Ram as Steve’s picture depicts above, the D rings are spaced far enough apart to clear the base frame.

    FWIW

New F350 with 5th Wheel Prep Package.
The Anderson hitch covers the Ford's OEM Chain connector points.. bummer.
Not so with B&W. Had no idea about this until a test fit after epiphany during a sleepless night.

You 'da man Jerry! I was just about to post my newfound issue with my new F350 chain pucks being covered by the Anderson Hitch.
    What diameter holes please?
I'm a bit surprised the pucks connect properly with the added depth of the hitch and the Bedrug. Exactly my setup.

    Thanks

Had to do a Search on Anderson's website for the Plate. Wasn't under the menus I saw.

I'm confused--two threads with almost the same content and same title. I see TucsonJim's note in the other thread--will reopen once I get this figured out. -Howard
