What is the drum supported by? the brake shoes and the hub. .20 out of alignment the brakes will drag so much you will for sure know it by the noise and smoke. IMO if that race is missing and you cant hear or see the misalignment you shouldn't be pulling it.

That's true. However, just like with the auto industry, Grand Design is getting behind this and taking the initiative to correct the problem.

I get the NHTSA RV recall list every week and I can tell you that Grand Design (all lines and all models of each line included) is on that recall list less than any other major RV mfg. I've been surprised at how little they have been on there compared to every body else.

The frame is brought in from Lippert with running gear attached. Axles and hubs attached.

They don't pull components apart to check whether they were assembled correctly before GD receiving them.

The recall notice we received says miss sized races, not missing.

There would be no way to know if they are right until something goes wrong.

We pull wheels for PA Safety inspection and you are unable to tell.

The recall details are now posted on the GDRV website for the two items from my original post #1 . Links below:

(the pdf for the electrical outlet item on the GDRV website is not the correct pdf.....noticed when I posted so that has been removed from my post below. Suspect GDRV will correct soon.)

I decided to call GDRV Customer Service and share about wrong pdf posting. First ring, Mike answered, we walked through it and he will go through the channels to get corrected.

I have no reason to doubt what Steve- Hunter70 posted relative to frame and axle arrival at the GDRV factory, BUT it is remarkable that Lippert would be willing to attach Dexter axles to their frame and deliver to Grand Design.

    It's contracted that way.

Are you sure of this. I thought I remember hearing at the rally that GD installs the suspension. I've seen a few recounts of loose spring U-bolts since switching to Dexter axles. That might be consistent with a different entity installing the axles. Or sabotage (I love a conspiracy).

I was thinking the same thing. I doubt Lippert installs the Dexter axles.

Went on a tour of the Momenutum line in 2016. If I recall correctly, at the the first assembly station the frame was upside down with no suspension. Don’t know if the frame came that way, or if it was delivered with axles and then removed.
