Transporting 5th wheel from Maine to Florida

I need some recommendations on how best to find someone to transport a 5th wheel from Maine to Florida in Nov. We no longer own a truck . I have had horses transported in the past and came across a lot of scam artist who I never used. If anyone has had this done and can recommend someone that would be great !

    How big a trailer
You could try on of the transporters that haul for the factories.

You can post on uship.com with all the relevant info and get pricing.

If it's a one time move you might even get someone here to do it but it would be costly with them needing to get there and back home since they aren't hauling goods to offset one leg of the trip. Likely more than double what someone with an empty leg needing to haul back down.

Call Indiana Transport. It is a company we use to haul our new units to us.

    Reasonably priced and insured.

They would dispatch a driver that is in the area to pick it up.

I don't want to derail Gullivers thread, but the way you said that leaves me wondering... When a customer special orders an RV, who arranges transportation from the factory to the dealer, GD or the dealer? TIA

Dealers have transport companies under contract.

When a manufacturer clears a unit for delivery, the manufacturer contacts the delivery service for pick up.

Doesn't matter whether it is a retail ordered unit or a stock unit.

Thanks Steve! This was the important part. I was envisioning a scenario where the manufacturer has to contact the dealer who then arranges for delivery. That would leave lots of room for miscommunication and delays.
